Beatrix Schulte Wien established the DIPO in 1997 on the family estate Hof Thier zum Berge in Dülmen/Westphalia and as a result she is regarded as the founder of horse osteopathy in Germany.
In the establishment of the DIPO, the interconnection of ideas, profession, passion and family tradition was crucial: Beatrix Schulte Wien is a skilled human osteotherapist and physiotherapist, owns a number of horses and is an active dressage horse woman. Her predecessors were horse breeders.
The first service offered included only training in horse osteotherapy, and soon further training and advanced training were added. In the meantime training locations were established by the DIPO at Neubulach (Stuttgart), Schwaiganger (near Munich) and Berlin. The course coverage has been steadily widened since. In autumn 2005, canine osteopathy was added.
