DIPO – about us
The “Deutsche Institut für Pferdeosteopathie” (German Institute for Horse Osteopathy, abbr. DIPO), based at Dülmen/Westphalia, acts as a forum for modern health management for horse and rider. Veterinary surgeons, osteotherapists, physiotherapists, blacksmiths, saddlers, riders, trainers and horse owners all come into contact with each other.
In addition, the DIPO is a FN certified horse posture and accommodation business.
Seminar members come to us from all over Germany as well as from neighboring countries.
What we offer
The DIPO is the only center in Germany at which horses and people are treated osteopathically. It is both an advanced training center as well as a venue for conferences and congresses, now at five centers in Germany. We train horse osteotherapists and horse physiotherapists. In addition, training is offered on horse acupressure, stress point massage and first aid. Since September 2005, we have offered dog osteopathy. The training is only authorized for veterinary surgeons, doctors and physiotherapists. You can find a summary of the services we offer under courses.
Who do we work with
Our lecturers include nationally and internationally recognized experts from all aspects of horse health care. In addition, we involve veterinary surgeons, horse osteotherapists and physiotherapists, blacksmiths, saddle specialists, renowned riders, equine business managers and trainers.
The DIPO horses and riders are trained by, amongst other contributors, the former director of the “Westfälischen Reit- und Fahrschule” (Westphalian Riding School) and grand prix judge Michael Putz as well as the FN equine business manager, Jörg Jacobs (formerly with Klaus Balkenhol).
Our Philosophy
We follow a holistic health concept which encompasses veterinary surgeons, horse osteotherapists and physiotherapists, acupuncturists, homeopaths, blacksmiths, master saddlers, horse dentists as well as riders, trainers and owners. We are partners together in the school of medicine and not competitors.
Our goal is to promote horse and rider in their quest for mobility and quality of movement. We want to keep both healthy and to optimize their achievements, adjust incorrect stresses and avoid unnecessary pain.
